Under the impact of public emergencies,self-employed catering workers suffered heavy losses. With the situation gradually under control, some tried actively to resume work and production, while others were determined to leave the catering industry for better development. The study finds that the choice of self-employed catering workers is mainly affected by four factors:the joint effect of store location and working time, the role conflict between family and work, the emotional infection from the internet and industry groups, and the effectiveness of national governance. In the context of the normalization of the epidemic control and prevention, the catering industry will still face severe tests for some time in the future. For this reason, due attention has to be paid by relevant authorities to the self-employed catering workers at the bottom to help them return to normal as soon as possible.
