游戏化在混合式英语写作教学中的运用

Gamification in Blended English Writing Teaching

混合式教学作为传统教学与网络化教学优势互补的一种教学模式,是当前高等教学的“新常态”。但如何在英语写作教学中进行有效的深度混合式学习,真正发挥学生主体作用却是当下大学英语教学改革的一大难题。以游戏化教学理论为支持,借鉴GAFCC游戏化模式,在目标(Goal)、访问(Access)、反馈(Feedback),挑战(Challenge)、合作(Collaboration)五个方面对混合式英语写作教学进行多维度的游戏化改进。结果显示,各种激励可供性的游戏化改造提高了学生的作文反馈和修改质量,因而分数更高;并且游戏化还增强了学生的行为投入和情感投入,但对认知投入的影响不明显。另外,游戏化还能激励部分学生进入心流状态,激励他们持续学习。

Blended teaching,as a teaching mode that complements the advantages of traditional teaching and online teaching,is a "new normal" of current higher education.However,it’s still a difficult problem to carry out effective and in-depth blended learning for English writing course,thus to exert students’ principal roles in the current College English teaching reform.This research is based on the theory of gamified teaching.By borrowing the GAFCC gamification model,it makes multi-dimensional gamified improvements in blended English writing course from the following five aspects:Goal,Access,Feedback,Challenge and Collaboration.The results show that gamification in various motivating affordances have improved the quality of students’ composition feedback and revisions,generating higher scores.Besides,gamification also enhances students’ behavioral engagement and emotional engagement in learning,but there’s no significant change for cognitive engagement.In addition,gamification can motivate some students to enter a state of flow,and encourage them to continue learning.
