American singer and poet Bob Dylan used music as a medium of social criticism and a weapon to fight for the black people,so as to show the image of the black people at that time.He described the problems and sufferings faced by the black people,attempted to promote the wave of civil rights movement,and tried to bring the possibility of social change.This paper analyzes the black images in Bob Dylan’s three protest poems“Just a Pawn in the Chess Game”,“The Death of Emmett Hill”and“Heidi Carroll Died Alone”,and intends to probe into the poet’s attitude towards the black people and the reasons for this attitude.
