The commercial trade conflict between England and France in the 18th century began with the War of the Spanish Succession. After defeating France,Britain gained territorial rights to Hudson Bay and the coast of New⁃foundland, and a monopoly on the supply of black slaves. And then, they continued the conflicts under the principle of mercantilism. They engaged in competition for colonies and major traded commodities. In response to the French challenge, the British government introduced the Molasses Act and supplementary provisions, but it is useless. This conflict lasted until 1763,when The Seven Years’War between Britain and France.France was defeated and Britain ascended to the dominant position. The trade conflict entered a new phase.
