To reveal the correlation and variation of various factors in women's Heptathlon, and to explore the characteristics of heptathlon and the key to the gap between the results of various events and the world excellent results. Methods:by using the methods of literature, correlation analysis, comparative analysis and mathematical statistics, the total and individual results of women's Heptathlon in 2020 national track and Field Championships were statistically analyzed, and the corresponding correlation degree and coefficient of variation were calculated. Results and conclusion:the correlation between the results of 100 meter hurdles and 200 meter speed events and the total results were 0.784 and 0.707 respectively;Compared with foreign countries, the correlation degree of domestic women's Heptathlon 800m events is significantly different. There is a big gap between China and the world's elite women Heptathlon Athletes in the total performance. If we take the 800 meter as a key event, the women's Heptathlon performance will enter the"weak event(800 meter)misunderstanding";Due to the internal contradictions and conflicts among the seven events, the coefficient of variation changes with the order of the competition, physical fitness and the technology of the events, and changes regularly and greatly among the seven events.
