Database Film as a Way to Understand“Marvel Cinematic Universe”

数据库电影可视为将数据库特点和电影叙述融合在一起,打破传统的线性叙事的陈规发展而成的一种新的艺术形式。由22部电影组成的“漫威电影宇宙”作为一个整体,具有鲜明的数据库电影特征:多种虚构时空和现实时空共同叠加、多个不同来源的超级英雄共存的模块化素材;导航与超链接的文本形式;角色相互勾连、故事相互嵌套、叙事相互推进的非线性叙述模式。

Database films can be regarded as a new form of arts which combines the characteristics of database and film narration by breaking the conventions of traditional linear narrative.Composed of 22 movies,“Marvel Cinematic Universe”as a whole has distinct characteristics of database film.Firstly,its modular materials with multiple virtual and real time-spaces are overlapped with superheroes in coexistence from multiple disparate resources.Secondly,it is the text form with navigations and hyperlinks.And finally,it is the non-linear narrative mode in which the characters are connected with one another,the stories are embedded with one another and the narratives are mutually advanced with one another.
