摘要
在同传过程中,有很多因素会影响译语的质量。其中,数字是著名的诱因,会给译员的精力分配造成困难,进而影响译语的输出。遇到数字时记笔记是一些同传译员会采取的做法。以Daniel Gile的“精力分配模式”和“问题诱因”为理论框架,以英汉同传中的数字密集语篇为例,将实验对象分为记笔记组和不记笔记组进行实验,运用定量和定性研究方法分析实验结果,探究笔记对译语质量的影响。研究发现:记笔记组译员同传表现大体优于不记笔记组译员,但记笔记也可能在某些情况下影响译语的准确度。结合实验和分析,最后总结出数字密集语篇同传时可采取的合理策略,并提出本研究对MTI同传教学的启示。
Many factors affect the quality of simultaneous interpreting,among which numbers are the well-known problem triggers,causing imbalance of energy distribution.A rule of thumb is that some simultaneous interpreters take notes to cope with numbers.Taking“Effort Model”and“Problem Triggers”as a theoretical framework,this paper aims to understand how note-taking affects the quality of EC simultaneous interpreting of number-intensive speeches.An empirical study is conducted by dividing subjects into two groups:note-taking group and note-free group,and the results are analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively.The research shows that the note-taking group generally outperformed the note-free group,but taking notes may sometimes backfire.The paper also sums up strategies that can help interpreters deal with situations of this kind and reveals what can be learned from the research about simultaneous interpreting teaching of the MTI program.
