Propaganda Investigation on Model Workers of Huaihe River Governance Project in the 1950s

新中国成立后,在党和政府的领导以及人民群众的支持下,淮河两岸掀起了根治淮河运动,涌现出大批治淮模范。此后,党和政府通过报刊、电影等大众传播媒介以及邀请治淮模范参加中外重要会议、接受毛泽东等党和国家领导人接见等多种形式对他们进行了广泛宣传,激发了广大人民群众学习模范的热情。其间,对治淮模范的宣传还与抗美援朝及妇女解放运动相结合,取得了较好的宣传效果。对于治淮模范的宣传增强了广大人民群众对党和政府的信任与拥护,治淮模范还成为越南等国家工农群众学习的榜样,在一定程度上促进了中外交流。

After the establishment of the PRC,with the leadership of the Party and the Government and the support of the people,a campaign to harness the Huaihe River flood was launched on both sides of the River,a large number of model workers of the Huaihe River governance project emerged.Afterwards,the Party and the Government have carried out extensive publicity to them through the mass media such as newspapers,movies,etc.,as well as inviting model workers to participate in important Chinese and foreign conferences,and receiving interviews from the Party and the State leaders such as Mao Zedong,that has aroused the enthusiasm of the broad masses of people to learn from model workers.In the meanwhile,the propaganda for the model workers was also combined with the Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea and the Women’s Liberation Movement,that achieved the satisfactory propaganda effects.The propaganda for the model workers had not only strengthened the people’s trust and support in the Party and the Government,but also made the model workers become an example for the workers and peasants to follow in Vietnam and other countries,that has promoted Sino-foreign exchanges to a certain extent.
