The discourse event of The Origin of New Chinese Literature is an important historical point in the development of modern Chinese cultural thought in the early 1930 s.During the event,Zhou Zuoren and his disciples and allies,as well as social and cultural circles,left-wing ideological circles,and academic research circles delved into the discussion of such core issues as the choice of intellectual path,the direction of new culture,and the origin of new literature,which also made the discourse event a real starting point of research activities on Zhou Zuoren.This discursive event was characterized by a dialogue dislocation,stemming from serious confrontation between the parties in the dialogue over their socio-political positions,profound dispute over the nature of their ideas,misunderstandings of Zhou Zuoren’s ways of expression,and Zhou Zuoren’s oscillation between theoretical explorations and historical narratives.Dialogical dislocation became a common and prominent feature of the world and Chinese discursive activities in the 20 th century.
