摘要
本文采用案例研究方法探究我国13位外语界著名教授、学者的阅读经历,具体研究他们在阅读材料选择、阅读动机和阅读策略三方面的不同表现。本研究发现老一代外语名师学习英语主要依靠原著、教材和报刊。阅读动机包括开阔视野、内在兴趣、语言发展和传播文化。他们在阅读中运用了认知策略、监控策略和情感与社会策略,其中情感与社会策略运用最多。本研究对于当下中小学英语阅读教学有一定借鉴意义。
Adopting case study method,this research explores the reading experiences of 13 Chinese famous EFL professors and scholars.In particular,this study investigates these teachers’reading performance in terms of reading materials selection,reading motivation and reading strategies.There are three key findings:first,these expert EFL teachers learn English mainly through novels,textbooks,newspapers and magazines;second,their reading motivation includes broadening vision,intrinsic interest,language development and spreading culture;third,they have implemented cognitive strategies,monitoring strategies and affective and social strategies in reading,among which affective and social strategies are the most frequently used.This study can serve as a reference for English reading teaching in the primary and secondary schools.
