摘要
加缪在《局外人》中以母亲离世、阿拉伯人被杀以及默尔索被判处死刑这三场死亡来展开故事情节。在这三种死亡中又同时兼具着荒谬、反抗与爱的三重维度。其中母亲的离世重在表现一种情绪上的荒谬感,他人的死亡则展现了刑事审判制度的荒谬性,而默尔索的死亡则旨在突出基督教的荒谬。在故事情节的发展中对于荒谬的阐发也逐渐深化,反抗的方式也由消极反抗走向积极反抗。而将荒谬与反抗连接成一体的则是爱。这种爱起始于对他人的爱,过渡到对自由的追求,归宿于地中海的阳光。《局外人》所表达的这三重维度也正是加缪哲学思想的核心和毕生的追求所在。
In The Stranger,Albert Camus opens the story with the death of his mother,the killing of an Arab,and the execution of Meursault.But these three kinds of death simultaneously have three dimensions:absurdity,rebellion and love.Among them,the death of the mother shows a kind of emotional absurdity,the death of others shows the absurdity of the criminal justice system,and the death of meursault aims to highlight the absurdity of Christianity.The elaboration of the absurdity deepens as the story develops.The way of resistance also changed from passive resistance to active resistance.Love is what unites the absurdity with the rebellion.This love begins with the love of others,moves on to the pursuit of freedom,and ends up in the Mediterranean sun.The three dimensions expressed in The Stranger are at the heart of Albert Camus′s philosophy and his lifelong quest.
