空间视域下《卡彭塔利亚湾》的创伤书写

Trauma Writing in Carpentaria from the Perspective of Spatial Narrative

亚力克西斯·赖特的《卡彭塔利亚湾》揭露了白人官方叙事背后土著民族悲惨的生活处境,整部小说的创伤书写呈现出多重空间维度。本文借助佐伦的叙事空间理论,从地形学空间、时空体空间、文本空间三个方面探讨空间对于小说创伤书写的作用:地形学空间隐喻了土著部落难以言说的创伤体验;时空体空间突出了人物的创伤治疗行动与轨迹;文本空间通过文本中语言的选择性、线性顺序与视点结构将土著个体创伤拓展到集体创伤,进一步深化了创伤的主题。

Alexis Wright’s Carpentaria depicts the traumatic experiences of indigenous tribes with superb narrative techniques,and reveals the tragic living conditions of indigenous people behind the official narrative of white people.Trauma Writing in the whole novel presents multiple spatial dimensions.Based on Zoran's theory of spatial narrative,this paper will analyze the role of space in trauma narrative in this novel from three aspects:topographical structure,chronotropic structure and textual structure.Topographical structures are metaphors for the unspeakable trauma experience of indigenous tribes;chronotropic structures highlight the character's actions and tracks of healing process;textual structures extend individual trauma of indigenous to the collective trauma through the selectivity of language,linear order and viewpoint structure of the text,and further deepen the theme of trauma.
