Professor ShakuntalaBanaji thinks that most regimes and populations handled and are handling the Covid-19 outbreak and the various new strains in line with the ways in which they already treated democracy. There is and will be more grief, surveillance and anxiety in the post Covid-era of Britain and India. She critiques the technocentrism in her research on children’s media use and argues that the experiences of low-income regions in the global South need to be brought into consideration to make any media agenda of children ’global’. She also provides insights into the media representation of social gender and class inequalities in the digital media.
