马克思主义认为,不同的、相互竞争的政党之所以存在,其基本解释必须追溯到社会的经济结构中。政党的产生与运作都与其代表的阶级利益难以分开。如果一个政治体制中存在的主要政党其成员大都来自社会的中上层阶级,那么不管它们口头上如何把“民主”喊得震天响,这个政治体制代表的就是中上层阶级的利益。反之,一种政治体制要代表最广大人民群众的利益,其中必须存在其成员多来自最广大人民群众的政党。中国共产党就是这样一个政党,100年来筚路蓝缕、艰辛探索,不断增强其阶级基础,不断扩大其社会基础,成为名副其实的“中国工人阶级的先锋队”“中国人民和中华民族的先锋队”,成为中国特色社会主义事业的领导核心。中国共产党就是中国人民的描绘性代表,世界上恐怕再也找不到比中国共产党更好的描绘性代表机制了。
