A Review of the First Edition of He Qifang’s“Trivial Memories in Exile”

此为《川东文艺》上何其芳佚文辑录考释系列成果之一。1938年《川东文艺》所载《流亡琐忆》在时间上早于《星岛日报》和《四友月刊》,是最初版本。相形之下,不仅文辞多有出入、表露的情感更为峻切,而且其"附记"亦为其余版本所无。何其芳的转向虽系联着时代风潮,但更与自身生命体验相关,《流亡琐忆》呈现了何其芳对于战争的独特体验:侵略者摧毁了他静谧的世界和宁静的心境,摧毁了他挥之不去的个人主义迷梦;在流亡途中,汉奸狐假虎威、飞扬跋扈的丑恶嘴脸加深了他的憎恨。藉此亦可引导我们再度思索他在"周作人事件"中的态度与情感反应。

"Trivial Memories of Exile"is one of the series of research and interpretation of He Qifang’s lost essays in East Sichuan Literature.This editionwas published in 1938,earlier than it was published onothertwo newspapers Sing Tao Daily and Siyou Monthly,thus was considered the first edition.In contrast,not only is there more discrepancies in the words,and the emotions expressed are more serious,but the postscript is also absent in other versions.Although He Qifang’s turn of literature is related to the trend of the times,it is more related to his own life experience."Trivial Memories in Exile"presents He’s unique experience of war:the invaders destroyed his quiet world,tranquil state of mind,and his lingering dream of individualism as well.On his way to exile,the traitorous’cunning and imperious faces deepened his hatred.From this analysis,it would be reasonable to reconsider his attitude and emotional response in the"Zhou Zuoren Incident".
