On Chu Culture Research and the Extension of Research Field

文化的形成与分布,与人群和环境有着密切的关系.环境影响或决定了文化的特性,而人群既是文化的创造者,也是文化的传播者.人群的生存和生活特性,决定了文化的时代性和区域性,任何一种文化都有其历史空间和地理空间.主要讨论了楚文化的历史空间和地理空间,指出了目前楚文化研究中存在的局限和不足,并从考古文化学的角度强调了未来楚文化研究应注重物质文化和精神文化的统筹,尤其是要通过物质的考古学文化努力探索精神领域的文化因子,进而不断扩展楚文化研究的新领域.

The formation and distribution of culture is closely related to the population and the environment.The characteristics of the culture are influenced or determined by the environment,and the people is both the creator and the spreader of culture.Since the survival and life characteristics of the people determine the time and space and region of the culture,so each culture has its historical space and geographic space.Chu Culture is no exception,but it has not reached a corresponding height in the study of Chu Culture.This article discusses the historical space and geographic space of Chu Culture.At the same time,the study of Chu Culture is too confined to material culture.Culture is composed of two parts:material and spirit.Archaeological culture is an ancient cultural relic that puts spirit on material.Therefore,the study of Chu Culture should explore the spiritual realm through archaeological culture.
