Line patrol by unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV)has become one of the main means to improve the efficiency and quality of transmission line patrol.The combination of UAV technology and transmission line operation mode can effectively make up for the shortcomings of traditional inspection mode.However,this new patrol mode is not perfect,so timely analysis of the role and impact of UAV in the operation of power transmission lines at this stage is particularly important for the next application of UAV in the field of power transmission lines.Combined with the characteristics of UAV and the requirements of power line patrol,and from the point of view of the functional classification of UAV patrol,the changes brought by UAV patrol under various working conditions and the shortcomings to be improved are introduced in detail,which provides reference for the next development of UAV in power line patrol.
