作为"奥登一代"的杰出代表,奥登在20世纪30年代的英语诗坛具有鲜明的开拓性、革命性和反叛性的先锋特点。他与艾略特之间的代际传承和诗学分歧,反映出他的先锋诗歌生成的时代语境。与前一代诗人反政治、非政治的诗学态度不同的是,他更积极地介入社会问题,尤其表现为融合马克思主义与弗洛伊德主义的政治左派立场。高空视角、临床性思维和诊疗性话语、现代工业景观描写是他的先锋诗歌的重要艺术特征,既构成了"奥登风"的主要内涵,也为他赢得了时代的掌声和永久的名声。
As the leading figure of the Auden Generation,Auden burst on the scene with his pioneering,revolutionary and rebellious avant-garde poetry in the 1930s.His inclination towards and poetic divergence from T.S.Eliot mirrors the context of his avant-garde poetry.Different from the anti-political and non-political poetics of his predecessors of the 1920s.he more actively participated in social issues,leaning towards the left-wing politics of integrating Marxism with Freudism in particular.The hawk’s vision,the clinical sense and diagnostic expression as well as the description of modern industrial landscape are salient features of his avant-garde poems,which not only contribute to the Audenesque style but cement his reputation.
