社会美育的“摆渡人”罗杰·弗莱及其与《伯灵顿杂志》的早期合作

摘要 20世纪英国美学家罗杰·弗莱一生不仅倾心于艺术理论研究和艺术创作,还致力于探索美育塑造现代社会完美人格的潜能和途径。而以大众路线来践行社会美育的抱负,实则推动着他自身艺术批评特色和美学理论的形成与发展。本文即以弗莱与《伯灵顿杂志》早期的合作为中心,呈现其艺术活动家的身份,并展现他践行社会美育与其艺术批评之间的联动。 Roger Fry,the aesthetician of Britain in 20th century,not only devoted all his life to art creation and theoretical research,but also showed perpetual enthusiasm for socially aesthetic education,actively exploring the approachs of creating perfect personality by aesthetic education in modern soceity.Actually it is the way he chosed to fullfill his ambition of socially aesthetic education,namely,Mass Route that motivated shaping and developing his criticism characteristic and aesthetic theory.Centering on Fry’s early cooperation with Burlington Magazine,this paper reveals his status as an art activist,and shows the co-development between his practice of carrying out socially aesthetic education and his art criticism.
