Illustration teaching in Virginia Commonwealth University focuses on a wide range of general knowledge, which encourages students to contact materials, techniques, concepts and various forms of visual art.In addition to the intensive and efficient training, students need to think deeply about the artistry and practicability of illustration.Through the combination of art and design,project-based curriculum practice and interdisciplinary application of art, they systematically study visual effects and illustration. The dual identity of teachers as artists/designers makes their teaching targeted and cultural. At the same time, their introduction of contract copyright and operation skills also laid a necessary foundation for the career planning of illustrators.
