The Nature and Rationality of Cooperatives:Based ona Social Capital Method

关于合作社的本质规定性和存在合理性,现有研究还存在一些争议和缺陷。本文引入社会资本方法对这两个问题进行重新审视。结论表明,合作社成员之间对称性的相互依存关系,使他们具有平等地位,合作社内部的成员协调和资源配置主要取决于社会资本;社会资本既是合作社的经济规则,又是合作社的主要资源,社会资本的可用性对于合作组织的创建和维护至关重要;合作社可以被视为基于社会资本的组织,而合作社原则可视为用以保护社会资本的措施。

Regarding the nature and rationality of cooperatives,there are still some controversies and flaws in the previous research.The article introduces a social capital method to re-examine these two issues.The conclusion shows that the symmetrical interdependence between members of cooperatives gives them equal status.The member coordination and the resource allocation in cooperatives mainly depend on social capital.Social capital is not only the economic rules but also the main resource of cooperatives.The availability of social capital is essential for the creation and maintenance of cooperative organizations.Cooperatives can be regarded as organizations based on social capital,and the principle of cooperatives can be regarded as measures to protect social capital.
