摘要 5G面向千行百业,带来10倍以上的流量增长,其中80%将发生在边缘,所以会驱动MEC(Multiaccess Edge Computing,多接入边缘计算)的快速发展。MEC是网络的自然延伸,是业务的汇聚点,基于多样化的业务数据及海量的终端接入,自然成为5G应用创新高地,也是5G赋能垂直行业的必选项。MEC的引入,最主要的目的是降低时延。当业务靠近网络边缘部署时,光纤传输时延会大大降低,同时设备跳数也会减少,从而降低设备转发时延。对于高带宽业务,在边缘分流还能够节省承载网带宽,也有利于提升业务体验。5G MEC可为各行各业提供低延时、大带宽、安全等能力,与AI等新技术的融合将更好地服务千行百业。本文主要针对5G MEC的现状和后期发展做简要阐述。 5G will bring more than 10 times of traffic growth,80%of which will occur at the edge,so it will drive the rapid development of MEC(multi access edge computing).MEC is the natural extension of the network and the convergence point of services.Based on diversified business data and massive terminal access,MEC naturally becomes the highland of 5G application innovation,and is also a necessary option for 5G enabling vertical industries.The main purpose of MEC is to reduce the delay.When the service is deployed close to the network edge,the optical fiber transmission delay will be greatly reduced,and the device hops will also be reduced,thus reducing the device forwarding delay.For high bandwidth services,streaming at the edge can also save the bandwidth of bearer network and improve the service experience.5G MEC can provide low latency,large bandwidth,security and other capabilities for all walks of life.The integration of 5G MEC with AI and other new technologies will better serve all walks of life.This paper mainly describes the current situation and later development of 5G MEC.
