人文素质是大学生综合素质的重要方面,是全面型、创新型人才的必备条件,大学生人文素质的重要性已成为高等教育界的普遍共识。诗歌作为一种凝练精粹的语言艺术,对大学生的人文素质和跨文化交际能力的培养有着广泛而深远的影响。在分析英语诗歌的特点及其对大学生人文素质教育的重要作用后,提出从反复诵读、英汉诗歌互译、英汉诗歌对比以及校园诗词文化建设等角度,全方面将英语诗歌融入大学生的生活。英语诗歌的浸润,于潜移默化中培养了大学生深厚的文化底蕴,有效提升了大学生的人文素质。

Humanistic quality is a crucial aspect of college students’comprehensive quality,a prerequisite of comprehensive and creative talents.The significance of college students’humanistic quality has been widely recognized in higher education circles.As a concise language art,English poetry can exert a far-reaching influence on the cultivation of humanistic quality and cross-cultural communication ability of college students.After analyzing the characteristics of English poetry and the important roles it plays in the humanistic quality education of college students,this article suggests a full integration of English poetry into college students'daily life through repeated reading,translation of English and Chinese poetry,comparison and contrast of English and Chinese poetry as well as the university poetry culture construction.The infiltration of English poetry has a subtle influence on cultivating college students’deep cultural accomplishment and improving their humanistic quality.
