[Purpose/Significance]This article discusses the influence of journals'interdisciplinary citations on the output of interdisciplinary knowledge. On the one hand,it is helpful to promote the flow of knowledge between disciplines. On the other hand,it analyzes the role of journals in interdisciplinary communication.[Method/Process]Reference diversity index(RDI)is used to measure journals’interdisciplinary citations;the interdisciplinary knowledge output intensity(IK)of journals is expressed by the frequency of citations, the citation timeliness index(A_(i))based on price index and the citation speed index(AS_(i))based on average time are used to express the timeliness of journal interdisciplinary knowledge output(TL),the citation diversity index(CDI)is used to express the interdisciplinary nature of journal knowledge output, and the impact of interdisciplinary citations on the output of interdisciplinary knowledge is analyzed from the three dimensions of output intensity, timeliness and inter-scientificity.[Result/Conclusion]Based on the data of 18 CSSCI journals of library and information science, the research finds that interdisciplinary citation helps to broaden the scope of knowledge output and increase the influence of the discipline in other disciplines, but it is not conducive to timely interdisciplinary knowledge output.
