Objective To investigate the effect of needle warming moxibustion combined with cupping on trigeminal neuralgia(TN)of wind-cold type. Methods A total of 76 patients with wind-cold type TN admitted to Anyang Sixth People’s Hospital from June 2015 to August 2020 were selected and divided into two groups according to the treatment plan, with 38 cases in each group. The observation group was treated with needle warming moxibustion combined with cupping, while the control group was treated with routine western medicine. The treatment effects and the levels of inflammatory factors between the two groups were retrospectively compared, and the visual analogue scale(VAS)was used to evaluate the pain degree. Results The total effective rate in the observation group was 94.74%(36/38),which was higher than 76.32%(29/38)in the control group,χ^(2)=5.208,P=0.022.After treatment, the inflammatory factors tumor necrosis factor and interleukin-6 in the observation group were(27.00±4.36)pg/ml and(20.44±2.79)pg/ml,respectively,which were lower than(32.68±8.00)pg/ml,(24.71±3.99)pg/ml in the control group,P<0.05.One and three weeks after treatment, the VAS score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(F=8.390,33.901,P<0.05).Conclusions Needle warming moxibustion combined with cupping can effectively relieve the pain of wind-cold TN and improve the body’s inflammatory response.
