《新青年》积极倡导女性解放思想,开辟了《女子问题》专栏,从生理、婚姻、教育和政治等多个角度向民众普及女性知识,以科学与理性的态度支持和推进女性解放。俄国十月革命之后,以李大钊为代表的知识分子又对马克思主义妇女观进行了详细的介绍。《新青年》所表达的女性解放思想展示出了五四运动前后知识届对于中国女性发展的美好期待以及对于文明社会的理想蓝图。

New Youth actively advocated the emancipation of women′s minds,opened up a column of“Women’s Issue”,which popularizes women′s knowledge to the public from physiology,marriage,education and politics,and supports and promotes women′s emancipation with a scientific and rational attitude.After the October Revolution in Russia,the intellectuals represented by Li Dazhao gave a detailed introduction to the Marxist view of women.The women′s emancipation thought expressed in New Youth shows the intellectual class′s good expectations for the development of Chinese women and the ideal blueprint for a civilized society before and after the May 4th movement.
