词源分析在英语专业精读课篇章理解中的作用--以《现代大学英语精读》为例 被引量:1

The Effect of Etymology Analysis on Text Understanding in Intensive Reading Class--A Case Study of Contemporary College English

摘要 英语精读课的中心任务是提升阅读能力,具体包括理解能力、赏析能力和应用能力。准确理解词语是完成学习任务的前提,而词源分析为课文阅读提供了有效的信息补充。选取《现代大学英语精读》教材中具代表性的课文,从词源的文化信息、词法信息、词义信息及语用信息等层面探讨词源信息在理解和赏析篇章中的作用。 The central task of intensive reading class is to enhance students’reading ability,which includes the abilities of comprehension,appreciation and application.Only when the words in the texts are understood in an accurate way can this task be completed.As a basic component of lexical knowledge,etymology may furnish text reading with effective information.Typical examples from different texts in Contemporary College English Reading Class have been cited to explore the significance of etymology analysis such as cultural,syntactic,semantic and pragmatic information in text reading.
