摘要
唐代有一位书生叫张果,生在河北邢州,年轻时一心要考取功名,求得高官厚禄。张果朝乾夕惕,苦读诗书,终于在30多岁时中举。等到朝廷开科取士,他备好盘缠,骑上毛驴,晓行夜宿,不远千里,来到了京城长安。住进一家客栈,得知考试日期还不到,张果决定先游玩一番。长安异常繁华,什么去处都有。尤其是平康坊,青楼座座,美女如云。张果在那里厮混半天,再去赌场玩钱,出了赌场再进酒肆,晚上带着满身酒气回来,一觉睡到第二天中午,早已没了读书的心思。进了考场,头脑迟钝,文章自然写得平平庸庸。等到发榜,张果左找右找找不到自己的名字,便回客栈牵出毛驴,垂头丧气,狼狈回乡。
The donkey carried Zhang Guo and headed directly to the mountain.Wherever Zhang Guo went,he would visit masters and asked about Tao.He had learned so much that he wrote many poems about Tao.One of his poems titled“On Dengzhen Cave”was collected by Complete Tang Poems.It said:“I cultivate myself in the cave,forgetting how many years passed.The wild grasses add to the beauty of the green ridges,and leisurely flowers bloom under renewed clouds.
