摘要
《江汉考古》2020年第1期载郭长江等先生《曾公[田求]编钟铭文初步释读》一文,公布了春秋时期曾公[田求]所作编钟及其释文。对于其中原释“应”之字形,尚有疑义,笔者结合字形、语势和应国南迁史迹,可知所谓“誓应京社”应为“慎㢈京社”,并非在应国宗庙盟誓,而是指曾公[田求]回忆“皇祖”受封南土后,谨慎、诚恳地修建城市、营造宗庙,从而为蔡国蔽护南门,伯长于汉阳诸姬之事。如此,将有助于梳理曾、蔡、应诸国关系以及西周时期南土的封建格局。
The journal Jianghan Archaeology published an article by Mr.Guo Changjian et al.in 2020,entitled A Preliminary Interpretation of the Inscriptions on the Marquis Zeng Qius Chime Bell.As indicated by the title,this article published the inscriptions on the aforementioned bronze chime bell and interpretation of them.There is,however,pending issue regarding the interpretation of a character which Mr.Guo and colleagues read as‘ying 应’.Combining with the grapheme,context,and the southward migration of the Ying应state,the author suggests that the so-called‘shi ying jing she’(making a pledge at a Ying state temple)phrase should have been'shen tui jing she'.It refers to the Marquis Zeng Qiu was recalling the stories of his ancestors after they were subinfeudated the southern land.The inscriptions recount how they were carefully and diligently building their city and ancestral temples as a form of guarding the southern gate of the Cai state and stories of.My new interpretation helps to further understand the relationship between the Zeng state,Cai state,and Ying state and the fengjian feudal structure in the southern territory of the Western Zhou Dynasty.
