The paper analyses the characteristics of walkable neighborhood’ built environment from the multidisciplinary perspectives. The construct of walkable neighborhoods couldn’t just limit in the walking system itself. It is necessary to consider more comprehensively about the urban design contents which are closely related to walking activities. In order to more fully understand the construction concept and content of pedestrianfriendly neighborhoods and promote their healthy development in China, this paper using case analysis method to do morphological research on three waterfront residential areas’ built environment in Sweden, discussing the morphological indicators and urban design strategies of pedestrian-friendly neighborhoods from convenient and accessible road network texture, green-oriented multiple transportation, functionally complex land use, water-green public space and slow travel In terms of friendly block architecture and other aspects.
