撕是一种动作,史书中写作裂,裂帛是古代生活中常见的行为之一。纸产生后,撕就成为分割纸张的一种方法,在生活中广泛存在。宋代的苏轼最早将裂纸两个字组合在一起,从此裂纸一词逐渐发展成为有固定语意的名词。随着民俗祭祀活动的盛行,撕纸成为祭祀中的展示内容,并逐渐演化成具有独特风格的艺术创作技法。撕纸比剪纸出现晚,制作不使用工具,作品造型边缘有毛茬,比剪纸多一种颜色。传统撕纸艺术遵循民族文化认知观念,是以哲理观念为主的平面艺术。撕纸艺术有明线传承和暗线传承两种方式,在民众中长期流传。目前,全国各地都有撕纸艺人在活动,撕纸技法日趋多样,作品风格地域化、民俗化、个人化。

Tearing is a kind of action,it was written as"Lie(裂)"in the history books and"Lie Bo(裂帛)"was one of the common behaviors in ancient life.After the paper is produced,tearing is a way to split the paper,it is ubiquitous in our life.Su Shi in Song Dynasty was the first person combined the"Lie(裂)"with paper,tearing paper gradually developed into a noun with a fixed meaning.With the popular of the folk sacrifice activity,tearing paper became a presentation content in the sacrifice activity and then evolv-ing into a distinctive artistic creation techniques.Tearing paper's appearing was later than the paper cutting,it don't need any tools,so there is slightly serrated on the edge of the production,it is more characteristic than paper cutting.The traditional tearing paper was following the national culture,so it was the graphic arts based on philosophical concepts.There are two ways for the inheritance of tearing paper,one is open line inheritance and another one is dark line inheritance,that are handing down in the public.Currently,the tearing paper artist are spreading all over the country,the techniques of tearing paper are more various and abundant,the work style are more regional,folk,and personalized.
