Objective To analyze the hospitalization expenses of cataract patients, explore its influencing factors, and provide reference opinions for reducing the economic burden of patients and improving the satisfaction of patients with medical treatment. Methods Retrospectively analyze the homepage information of hospitalized medical records of cataract patients in a hospital from January 2017 to December 2019,analyzed the changes in the composition and time trend of hospitalization expenses, and use a single factor method to analyze the influencing factors of the total hospitalization expenses of patients, and through the decision tree classification method for factor classification. Results A total of 8538 valid samples were screened, and the per capita hospitalization cost was 7727 yuan. The univariate results showed that there were statis tical differences in hospitalization expenses among the five factors of gender, age, medical payment method, length of hospitalization, and cataract type(P<0.05).Incorporating it into the CHAID decision tree model, the results showed that the length of hospital stay had the greatest impact on the cost of hospitalization(F=703.841,P<0.001),followed by age, medical payment method and cataract type. Conclusion The hospitalization expenses of cataract patients are well controlled. The hospitalization expenses of patients can be reasonably controlled by controlling the cost of consumables, standardizing surgical indications, and shortening the average hospital stay.
