Objective To investigate the effect and mechanism of overexpression of miR-139-5 p on the proliferation and invasion of glioma U87 MG cells. Methods Instantaneous transfection of miR-139-5 p mimics into glioma U87 MG cells was verified by real-time PCR. The proliferation and invasion of the were detected by CCK-8 kit and transwell respectively, Western blot was used to detect the expression of BMI1 protein, and the targetscan and double luciferase reporter gene experiment were used to verify whether BMI1 is the target gene of miR-139-5 p. Results Overexpression of miR-139-5 p inhibited the proliferation and invasion of glioma U87 MG cells, and the expression level of BMI1 protein was decreased. Bioinformatics and dual luciferase reporter gene confirmed that BMI1 was the target gene of miR-139-5 p. Conclusion miR-139-5 p inhibits the proliferation and invasion of glioma U87 MG cells via targeting BMI1.
