Contrastive Study on the Dissimilarities in Exemplary Narration of Left-Wing Workers’Movement in The Short-Pants Party&Midnight

作为典范的工人运动叙述文本,小说《短裤党》和《子夜》诠释了工人运动叙述所应该具有的诸多要素。但是,由于创作年代和创作主体的不同,《短裤党》和《子夜》在对工人运动的叙述中又有着诸多的差异。《短裤党》表现了工人阶级与反动军阀政权之间界限分明的激烈的阶级冲突,而《子夜》所叙述的却是工人阶级与实业资本家之间的充满谋略的斗争,以及茅盾出于民族主义立场的阶级和解心态。在《短裤党》中,蒋光慈对激情宣讲革命理论的革命领导人充满了景仰之情,而在《子夜》中,茅盾对革命领导人所宣讲的“术语”和莽撞行动进行了多层次的批评。在《短裤党》中,蒋光慈积极书写了革命领导人的带有理想化色彩的爱情,而在《子夜》中,茅盾却写出了一幅混乱而怪诞的革命恋爱图景。从《短裤党》到《子夜》展现了一个政治和文学的历史进程,一个由激进表达到相对温和书写的线索和叙述伦理上的反思经历。

As exemplary narrative texts of the workers’movement,the novels The Short-Pants Party and Midnight contain many basic elements that the narration of the workers’movement should have.However,due to the differences in both times of creation and also the creators,these two novels vary a lot in the narrative style of the workers’movement.The Short-Pants Party shows the apparent and fierce class conflict between the working class and the reactionary warlord regime,while Midnight describes the strategic struggle between the working class and industrial capitalists as well as the writer’s class reconciliation mentality out of nationalism.Jiang Guangci expressed admiration for the leaders of revolution who passionately preached revolutionary theories in his novel The Short-Pants Party,while in Midnight,Mao Dun criticized the“cliché”and reckless actions of the revolutionary leaders from various levels.In addition,Jiang actively wrote an idealized love of revolutionary leaders,while Mao depicted a chaotic and grotesque picture of revolutionary love.From the creation of The Short-Pants Party to Midnight,a progression of both political and literary history can be traced,and a reflection process of clues and narrative ethics from radical expression to relatively mild writing can be clearly followed too.
