Application of the Concept“Synthesis of Various Cultures with Han Culture as Backbone”in the Design of Neo-Chinese Furniture

本文旨在从不同家具文化比较中谈新中式家具设计。应用“博风汉骨”的理念,以自身文化为根基,传承中国家具文化精髓,并博采众家之长,从德国、意大利、法国现代家具发展历程中,探寻新中式家具发展的启示。研究发现我国传统家具与德国现代家具都表现出理性的精神和卓越的品质,新中式家具应继承这些优点,并加强结构研究,注重结构设计;学习意大利现代家具的生活美学和创新精神,新中式家具设计应关注各类艺术与文化思潮,了解设计潮流与发展趋势,注重新材料和新技术的发展应用;对比法国现代家具对艺术品位和装饰趣味的追求,新中式家具设计可以适度表现传统家具的工艺性和装饰性,提升设计品质和工艺品质,展现丰富的文化内涵。

After comparing different furniture cultures,this paper discusses the design of Neo-Chinese furniture.Based on our own culture,we inherited the essence of Chinese furniture culture while absorbed advantages of other cultures.Adopting the concept of“Synthesis of various cultures with Han culture as backbone”,we tried to probe the developing history of modern German,Italian,and French furniture to find innovations for neo-Chinese furniture.The conclusion is that both the traditional Chinese furniture and the modern German furniture display rationality and the quality of excellence,which should be inherited in the design of Neo-Chinese furniture with the emphasis on structural research and design.Learning from the life aesthetics and the spirit of innovation of modern Italian furniture,designers of Neo-Chinese furniture should pay more attention to all kinds of art and culture thoughts,get insight into the designing and developing trend,and place emphasis on the application of new materials and technology.Modern French furniture pursues artistic and decorative function in their design.Comparing to this,the design of Neo-Chinese furniture can appropriately show the technical and decorative function of traditional furniture to improve the design quality and craftsmanship,thus showing its rich cultural connotation.
