区域一体化、地方品质对产品质量的影响——引入质量的新经济地理学模型

The Influence of Regional Integration and Local Quality on Product Quality——Introducing Quality into the Model of New Economic Geography

做高质量的好产品是高质量发展的内在要求。本文以自由企业家(FE)模型为基础,从生产和消费两方面引入产品质量因素,构建基于新经济地理学的产品质量模型(FE-Q),讨论区域一体化与地方品质对于产品质量的影响。FE-Q模型表明,运输成本和区域一体化是集聚力,地方品质是一种新的集聚力,但两者对产品质量的作用机制不同。当两地区存在地方品质差异时,区域一体化程度对于当地产品质量的影响存在两种可能:提升产品质量或不产生影响。如果两地区地方品质差异不大,运输成本是影响产业集聚的主因;当两地区地方品质差异较大时,地方品质成为影响产业集聚的主因,且地方品质越高,产品质量越好。另外,一个地区产品替代弹性的增加有助于提升产品质量。

Making good products of high quality is an inherent requirement for high-quality development.Based on the Footloose Entrepreneur(FE)model,this paper introduces product quality factor from both production and consumption aspects,builds a product quality model(FE-Q)under the new economic geography,discusses the influence of regional integration and local quality on product quality.The FE-Q model shows that transportation cost and regional integration are agglomeration forces and local quality is a new agglomeration force,but they have different mechanisms on product quality.When there is a difference in local quality between two regions,there are two possible effects of the degree of regional integration on the regional product quality:enhancing the product quality or having no effect.If the difference in local quality between two regions is not large,transportation cost is the main factor affecting industrial agglomeration;when the difference in local quality between two regions is large,local quality becomes the main factor affecting industrial agglomeration,and the higher the local quality,the better the product quality.In addition,the increase of product substitution elasticity in a region helps to improve product quality.
