应急语言翻译之能力考辨

Translation Competence in Emergency Translation Services

应急语言翻译能力是在重大自然灾害或公共危机事件中提供应急语言翻译产品的能力,是应急语言服务能力的重要组成部分。通过梳理和参照国内外翻译能力相关研究,尝试构建应急语言翻译之能力模型,提出应急语言翻译能力由双语交际能力、应急主题知识、翻译专业知识、工具能力、策略能力,以及心理-生理素养构成,并进一步阐释基于这一模型的应急语言翻译人才培养机制,以期为未来应急语言服务理论与实践贡献智慧。

Translation competence in emergency translation services(ETS),an important component of translation competence in emergency language services(ELS),refers to a translator’s ability to produce emergency translation products in dealing with major natural disasters or public crisis events.This paper attempts to propose,by drawing on relevant studies worldwide,a model of translation competence in ETS,which comprises bilingual communicative competence,emergency expertise,knowledge of translation,instrumental competence,strategic competence and psycho-physiological qualities,and thereby examines the mechanism for translator training based on this model.It is hoped that this study will contribute theoretically and practically to ELS in the future.
