语篇连贯:翻译研究的本体回归

Discourse Coherence:The Ontological Return of Translation Studies

"文化学派"脱离语言的弊端饱受批评,译界众多学者呼吁翻译研究"回归本体",但本体回归的具体路径鲜有讨论。本文从语篇连贯的视角揭示泛文化倾向脱离文本、过分夸大译者主体性的弊病,通过典型译例讨论翻译过程中构建语篇连贯的实践价值和理论意义。建构主义的语篇连贯观,既强调译者主体性的能动发挥,也重视文本对译者理解的定向作用,意义的生成实质上是"主-客-主"关系的构建,原文的理解有赖于连贯的建构,而译文的表达是连贯的重构。语篇连贯是翻译的本体研究,语篇连贯的翻译视角是本体回归的重要路径。

The cultural study of the text is after all an external study while the linguistic study is the internal one,belonging to the ontological study.The ontological return of translation studies is a consensus of opinion among many scholars.From the perspective of discourse coherence,this paper reveals the disadvantages of pan-cultural tendency,and emphasizes the significance of discourse coherence for translation studies to"return to ontology".Discourse coherence based on constructivism not only pays attention to text structure and meaning,but also attaches importance to translator’s subjectivity as well as social and cultural factors.As ontological study,the practical value of constructing discourse coherence in the process of translation was discussed with the help of some typical translation examples.
