Research on Steven Holl’s Design Thinking Transformation through the Sarphatistraat Office

文章旨在推演斯蒂文·霍尔设计思维转变过程,通过哲学溯源、关联比较并结合实践分析等方法,选取Sarphatistraat办公体为主要研究对象,从三个层面阐释其创作思想与设计策略对建筑设计的启示意义:告别类型学,转向拓扑学,对建筑与场地关系的探讨;从铰接空间到透视空间,对身体与空间关系的论述;从形式想象力到材料想象力,对以材料触觉性为始点的方法进行提炼。

This study investigates the transformations of Steven Holl’s design thinking through philosophical traceability,correlation comparison and practical analysis.Whilst looking at the Sarphatistraat office building,this research demonstrates the enlightenment of Holl’s creative thinking and design strategies to architectural design from three aspects:from typology to topology,the interpretation of the relationship between the building and the site;from articulated space to perspective space,the discussion of the correlation between body and space;and from formal imagination to material imagination,an approach of space creation based on material tactility.
