This paper introduces the background and development prospect of the rise of the concept of smart city,analyzes some problems existing in the current urban planning and construction in China,and discusses how to use the concept of smart city to look at the farreaching perspective of urban development.Applying the concept of smart city to urban planning and construction can solve the deficiencies in urban planning more scientifically and reasonably,and finally achieve the intelligent,efficient and green planning effect.
