Surgical boot camp curriculum improves clinical competencies in senior medical students

To provide a clinical practice skills training curriculum for senior medical students,and to assess its effect on the students'clinical practice skills and operative performance.Surgical boot camp program was held by Jinan University.The 40-hour surgical boot camp program composed of lectures on clinical issues,clinical practice simulation,field anatomy,and simulated operation based on fresh cadavers.The participants were 24 undergraduates of 4th grade in medical school will enter hospitals to be preliminary interns.The results showed that 95.0%of students were satisfied with the surgical boot camp,and for the content setting,92.2%of students thought it was appropriate for them,and the training curriculum gave them a valuable clinical practice experience.
