In the context that the protection and research of natural and cultural heritage has attracted growing attention from the international scientific community,especially under the active promotion of former President Lu Yongxiang of the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS),the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research(IGSNRR)established the Center for Natural and Cultural Heritage Research(CNACH)in June 2006.
