Baudelaire’s poem,the Flower of Evil,is controversial because of its unusual depiction of social ugliness and hateful and even disgusting images.Also,the pioneering way of expression he used in the poetic field has brought about the appreciation and controversy at the same time,which entitled the poet to the cheif position in the modem poetry.Baudelaire's interpretation on ugliness is of great sociological and aesthetic significance and,to a certain extent,it is also the poefs reflection on society from the aesthetic level.
