Objective: To explore the application effect of continuous care based on Omaha system in patients with colorectal cancer stoma. Methods: A total of 82 patients with colorectal cancer admitted to the hospital from July 2017 to July 2020 were selected and divided into two groups according to a random number table. The control group(41 cases) took routine care, and the observation group(41 cases) performed continuation care based on the Omaha system. The two groups’ disease nursing knowledge and skills at 30 days of intervention, self-management ability [Self-Care Ability Measurement Scale(ESCA)] scores before and 30 days after intervention were compared, the incidence of complications was observed and counted. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in ESCA scores between the two groups before intervention(P>0.05). The ESCA score and disease care knowledge and skills mastery of the observation group after 30 days of intervention were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05). The total incidence of complications was 2.44%, which was lower than 19.51% in the control group(P<0.05). Conclusion:Continual nursing intervention based on the Omaha system for colorectal cancer patients with stoma can improve the patients’ knowledge of disease care and self-management ability, and reduce the incidence of complications.
