Participatory art has been one of the hot topics in art theory and critique for years.American theorist Grant Kester argues that this type of art should keep its radicalism, that is,to reconstruct the traditional concept of art autonomy, and engage in the cultural construction of a specific site with dialogues and collaborations.Based on Kester’s view, this paper argues that the real public participatory art should not only engage specific sites and issues, but also reshape the subjectivity of the project participants.
