The Houston Energy Corridor District is one of the key special economic functional areas in the Greater Houston Region.With the advent of the great recession in the oil industry,the Houston Energy Corridor District has faced tremendous challenges.Spatial restructuring has become one of the important ways to effectively address these challenges to its development.In doing so,the Energy Corridor has been transformed through spatial planning by pursuing infrastructure and transportation facilities construction and renovation,along with high-quality mixed-use regions development.These spatial restructuring initiatives have improved the public safety and life quality of the entire area.This has led to industrial structure optimization and high-quality population agglomeration,thus realizing quality improvement and economic growth in the Houston Energy Corridor District.
