Methodology and Paradigm Innovation for Regional and Country-specific Studies under the New Development Pattern

2021年5月,在上海市国际关系学会的指导下,《俄罗斯研究》编辑部联合《国际展望》《国际观察》《国际关系研究》《德国研究》编辑部,就"新发展格局下区域与国别研究方法与范式创新"举行学术研讨会。我们选取了部分发言专家的文稿,组成本期笔谈(根据发言的内容,从一般理论到国别研究案例排列),以飨读者。当前国别与区域研究事关重大,因为中国的事情历来很大程度上与如何理性地把握与外部世界的关系密切相关。当下的中国正在从梁启超笔下的"中国之中国""亚洲之中国"迈向"世界之中国",现在可能是历史上中国政治和知识精英第一次尝试发展出真正意义上的全球视野(甚至包括南北极、外太空等)的时期。在这个过程中,"世界之中国"急需建立能够覆盖全球各个地理空间的知识生产和传播体系。同时也日益迫切地需要在"讲好中国故事"的基础上,"立足中国、讲好世界故事"。崛起中的中国参与世界的程度越深,对于世界各个地区的关切和了解的需求就越大。区域国别研究作为中国"国家知识体系"中的重要部分,为上述过程提供知识储备责无旁贷。

In May 2021, under the guidance of the Shanghai Association of International Relations, the editorial office of the Journal of Russian Studies, together with others including the Global Review, the International Review, the Journal of International Relations and the Deutschland-Studien held an academic seminar entitled "Methodology and Paradigm Innovation for Regional and Country-specific Studies under the New Development Pattern". We select manuscripts of some experts to form this proceeding(arranged according to the content of speeches from general theories to country-specific research cases). Currently country-specific and regional studies is of great significance as things in China have always been closely related to how to rationally grasp the relationship with the outside world. Contemporary China is transitioning from "China of China" and "China of Asia", described by Liang Qichao, to "China of the world". Now it might be the first time in history that Chinese political and intellectual elites are trying to develop a truly global vision(even including the North and South Pole, the outer space). In this process, "China of the world" urgently needs to establish a knowledge production and dissemination system which can cover all geographic spaces of the world. Meanwhile, there is also an increasingly urgent need to "tell the world story well" according to China’s realities based on "telling China’s story well". The further a rising China is participating in world affairs, the greater the needs for understanding of various regions of the world will be. As an important part of China’s "national knowledge system", country-specific and regional studies is duty-bound to provide related knowledge reserves.
