基于深度翻译理论的中国文学英译策略探究

On the Translation Strategies of Chinese Literature from the Perspective of Thick Translation Theory

中国对外文化传播战略的开展,赋予中国文学更多的时代使命,使其英译的重要性愈加凸显。深度翻译理论从1993年诞生,给世界和我国翻译界注入新的活力,通过为翻译文本提供解释性的材料,便于文学文化价值的发挥和文学英译研究的深入。文章介绍了深度翻译的三大相关研究,包括“副文本”“潜文本”和“附翻译”。以此为背景,分析深度翻译理论对中国文学英译的指导意义,重点提出我国文学英译的创新策略,初步设想从语义、交际、文化、艺术语言和实践等层面进行改进,以期为提高文学翻译的准确性、推进深度翻译在我国的发展提供一定借鉴。

With the development of China’s foreign cultural communication strategy,Chinese literature is endowed with more mission of the era,and its English translation is becoming more and more important.The theory of thick translation,which was born in 1993,has injected new vitality into the world and China’s translation circle.By providing explanatory materials for the translated texts,it is convenient to play the cultural value of literature and deepen the study of literary English translation.This paper introduces three related researches on thick translation,including“para-text”,“sub-text”and“attached translation”.Based on this background,this paper analyzes the guiding significance of the thick translation theory to the English translation of Chinese literature,puts forward the innovative strategies for the English translation of Chinese literature,and tentatively envisages the improvement from the aspects of semantics,communication,culture,artistic language and practice,so as to provide some reference for improving the accuracy of literary translation and promoting the development of thick translation in China.
