The Glorious Traditions and Epochal Enlightenment of the Communist Party of China Leading the Green Lifestyle with Fine Conduct

中国共产党有着以良好党风促成勤俭节约社会风气的实践传统、思想传统和榜样传统,具备通过纠治“四风”问题引领全社会形成绿色生活方式的执政能力。党的十八大以来,反“四风”行动营造了传递绿色能量的舆论氛围,引领了环保低碳的家风,并丰富和发展了以勇于自我革命为基石、以拓宽密切联系人民群众的渠道为纽带、以将正风肃纪贯穿于工作生活中为法宝等引领绿色生活时尚的基本经验。这些基本经验不仅对新发展阶段中国共产党如何坚持和完善领导绿色经济发展的体制机制,实现碳达峰与碳中和的战略目标,用最严格制度、最严密法治保护生态环境,具有重要的时代启迪意义;而且能够推动全党持续加强作风建设,充分发挥优良党风对开展绿色生活创建行动、营造绿色低碳生活新时尚的率先垂范作用。

The Communist Party of China has the practice tradition, ideology tradition and role model tradition of promoting the social morality of diligence and frugality with its own fine conduct, thus capable of leading the whole society to carry on a green lifestyle by rectifying the “four undesirable work styles” (i.e., formalism, bureaucratism, hedonism and extravagance). Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the campaign against the “four undesirable work styles” has created an atmosphere of public opinion that transmits green energy, led the low-carbon lifestyle of environmental protection in every household, enriched and developed basic experiences of advocating the green lifestyle which is founded on a courageous self-revolution, linked by the broadened channels of close contact with the people, and guaranteed by the righteousness and discipline through work and life, etc. These basic experiences are of epochal significance for the Communist Party of China to adhere to and perfect the party’s system and mechanism of guiding the development of green economy in the new development stage, to actualize the strategic goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, and to protect the ecological environment with the strictest system and most rigorous rule of law.
