View and Transcendence of Western-style Democracy

西方资本主义民主在投票选举、法律治政、分权制衡等方面具有历史进步性和一定程度的现实意义,但也存在金钱限制、党派权斗、无法普世等内在缺陷和不足。社会主义民主建设以服务于人民利益为宗旨,可以合理借鉴西方民主制度中具有普遍价值的成分为我所用,同时避免对其进行不切实际的照抄照搬。在中国共产党的领导下,应当以人民民主超越自由民主,以政党合作超越政党竞争,以实质平等超越形式平等,不断发展、完善具有中国特色的社会主义民主。

Western capitalist democracy embodies historical progress and a certain degree of practical significance in voting,governing by law,and checks and balances,but there are also inherent defects and deficiencies such as monetary restriction,power struggle among parties and lack of universality.The purpose of socialist democracy construction is to serve the interests of the people,so we can reasonably use the elements with universal value in the western democratic system for our own use while avoiding unrealistic copying of it.Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China,socialist democracy with Chinese characteristics should be constantly developed and improved by taking people's democracy over free democracy,political party cooperation over political party competition,and equality in substance over equality in form.
